Goal. Cut chemical pesticide use by 50% in three years to meet EU Organic standards.

Common pests and diseases

  • Looper caterpillar — damages young cinnamon leaves April–June.
  • Stink bug — sucks young anise pods.
  • Anthracnose — surges in the rainy season.

Biological measures applied

  1. Spray Bacillus thuringiensis against loopers and leaf-rollers.
  2. Pheromone traps at 12/ha for stink bugs.
  3. Release Trichogramma parasitoid wasps at 80,000/ha early-season.
  4. Apply Trichoderma against anthracnose every 30 days during rains.
